The common mistakes a native Mandarin speaker would make in speaking English are mostly the extended habits from Mandarin. Sometimes even advanced-level English learners make basic mistakes because those are just where the two systems work differently. I believe English speakers could understand us even if they noticed some mistakes, but if we could pay more attention to them, we should be able to correct them and reduce listeners’ confusions.
