About Me

by TGS

Hi, I am Jess!

Even though it’s been years since I left school, I still find great joy in learning. Growing up in Taiwan, I have been learning English for a long time as it has always been a big subject here. Thankfully, I found the language and its culture fascinating, which motivates me to keep learning and discovering new findings all the time. However, it hasn’t been an easy language to learn for a Mandarin native speaker.

One day, I came across the idea of writing down the challenges I encountered in learning English as a second language and sharing the useful learning resources I’ve tried. Why? Because I want to revisit them myself and hope that it could also add a little help for people who teach or learn the language. So, here I am!

My focal point is to share the English learning experience from a Mandarin student’s perspective, while I may also explore broader topics related to English, Mandarin, or Taiwanese culture along the way. It’s important to note that I am not a teacher, but simply a passionate learner who likes to learn, speak, write, and share.:)

If you’ve found your way here, chances are you’re a passionate learner. I want to thank you for taking the time to read and experience the journey with me. Feel free to leave me a comment or ask any questions you may have. Let us enjoy the ride of learning together!
